What Exactly Is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a food production and distribution system that directly connects farmers and consumers. In short: people buy "shares" of a farm's harvest in advance and then receive a portion of the crops as they're harvested.

This allows us as your farmer, to earn important pre-season capital and to have a guaranteed market for our produce. For you the consumer, you get to enjoy overall lower food costs, local-field-fresh produce, and greater access to high-demand fruits and vegetables like strawberries and heirloom tomatoes. As a bonus, our CSA offers more than fruits and vegetables. We also offer farm fresh eggs, honey and flowers.

What is a local food system?

A local food system is a collaborative network that integrates sustainable food production, processing, distribution, consumption, and waste management in order to enhance the environmental, economic, and social health of a particular area.

The Benefits of Joining our CSA Farm Membership:

  • You know exactly where your food comes from.

  • Your food will be fresher.

  • The food tastes better.

  • Freshly picked produce is more nutritious.

  • Produce is free from harmful chemicals.

  • Your overall diet will be healthier.

  • CSA's save you money.

  • CSA's save you time.

  • You get the chance to try new foods.

  • You have your own personal farmer who will take pre-orders to grow specifically for you. This is especially helpful for those who annually Can, Freeze, Pickle, or like to make bulk Sauces and or Salsas.

Why is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) important?

Bee Organic Farm & Apiary puts time and energy, all year around, into growing healthy soil and in turn, healthy products that benefits the environment, the community and you. By becoming a CSA Farm Member, you are providing the necessary pre-season capital farmers need in order to produce the fresh, local produce for you and your community.

CSA Farm Members get notified of harvests!

We will send out notifications a week or two before our products are ready to harvest, approximately early June, so that you will be able to login and purchase with your credits. We will be posting updates on Facebook and via email to all our customers who have signed up to be a farm member.
